I get the whole controversy with Sean, trust me I do, but I enjoyed the dramatics of the relationship. He was way too hypocritical tho, the scene with the gun, as scary as it was, rubbed me the wrong way. I wouldn't blame Fiona or Carl for that. As someone raised in a house full of guns, I was taught to never ever go near one. Curiosity killed the cat with Will and he was obviously scared, but Sean my boy, no. I felt Sean sort of blended well with the family, understood dysfunction all too well so that's probably why, but at the end of the day, it was a scabbing wound.

The wedding scene, Fuck Frank, ik he helped Fiona dodge a bullet, but at the end of the day, it was never really about Fiona, it was about his damn ego as always. The whole situation was shitty for everyone and I felt for her, really. The bridge scene was dope as hell. Bravo. Cinematic.

With the Debbie v Fiona, I was honestly on Fiona's side most of the time. A decision like this, in their way of living, oof, and Fiona made it clear she wasn't gonna be in charge of another kid. Harsh, but... I wouldn't do it either. But the reality is, Debbie has always been around kids, and very clearly wanted to be a mother, as early as s1. It's just... timing wasn't right. But to tackle a teen to the ground??? Wtf. A grown ass woman. Girl. No.

Oh Lip... his lip ain't doing good. As fucked as the whole Helene thing was, no relationship has ever made more sense to me than that one (for all the wrong reasons) Mommy issues as bright as day right there. And the fact that he couldn't recognize that and saw it as a normal college Tuesday makes me pity him. People don't agree with the relationship, and they're right, they shouldn't, but not because it's a bad storyline. It should make you feel uncomfortable because it is, but that's something that sooner or later, was bound to happen with him. That scene where he walks to the bar and yaps like Frank does with a beer in his hand, and everyone in disbelief... oof...

EMT IAN. NEED I SPEAK??? My baby... Those first episodes were so hard for him... Fucking Lip being insensitive at times... FUCK Ian makes me cry. Him standing his ground to get the job back, oh lord. There's a deleted scene that should've stayed but oh well. Anyway. I love him.

Don't even get me started on Gallavich. The scene with Lana on patsies cuts me. That prison scene breaks me without fail every time. I can't. I just couldn't envision, if things really went without having to call back Noel for ratings and views in s7, that the prison scene would be -it- for them... His leave was horribly handled too... but alas...

Caleb??? I have much to say about him in s7, but he... isn't half bad here... Don't love him, but he's alright. Motivated our ginger boy to get a job that gave him purpose, gave him soft smooches and little lunches, and taught him to receive softness. I love those things but not because it comes from him, more so because Ian deserves those gestures. The HIV conversation was handled well I think??? Don't have any particular complains... yet

Frank's storyline at the start of the season interested me, with the cancer lady and whatnot, not a fan of indulging Debbie into grooming, but it's Frank, and Frank is a fucking pos, but as soon as Queenie comes along I got so fucking BORED. Just not my cup of tea, the whole organic storyline put me to sleep. Kind of wish Debbie wasn't involved cause I think her pregnancy journey had more potential than ending up with Queenie. Idk that whole thing was just boring for me.

White boy Carl... eh, it is what it is, seemed in character enough ig, everyone expected part of this future to head that way so, yeah. Nick... so many mixed feelings like everyone else. I just feel for him man, that situation was horrendous. That, along with 3x666 are the only two scenes where I can't like... they're hard to stomach, for obvious reasons ik, but yeah. That was tough. I feel like it was fun to see Carl with his shenanigans, somewhat cringe but I can't pinpoint if it's because of E's performance or shitty writing.

Mandy and Ian's moment, holy fuck. That made me tear up. Mandy my beloved... I hope you're doing well.

I just saw you on my feed talking about the show „Under the bridge“ which I started and am totally obsessed with because I love lily Gladstone and ✨butch women✨ but on a more serious note I wanted to ask if you are maybe personally a fan of Lily ? Because just like I said I’m a fan of her and I have been following her for 3 years now and with the on going situation about the met gala, her playing a cop in this show.. and not really speaking up about Palestine the way I expected, makes me kinda sad and uncomfortable. I know celebrity worship is not positive in any way but I always liked her acting and also the way she seems to be when not on camera. I know I can’t say much about her because I don’t know her personally but I said to myself kind of ironically before the met began „I‘m gonna stop supporting everyone who will be there“ but I kinda meant it and seeing lily there made me sad knowing that she would be willing to pay 75k for this sh!t is not it for me. Idk maybe I‘m overreacting I‘m just not really happy about what‘s happening lately when I thought some celebs actually stand on the right side but it turns out most don‘t care one bit about others and us the working class ofc.

To start off I don't really keep up with the met gala/celebrities in general and I haven't heard of any specific controversies with the met gala this year? All I really know about it is that it's a fundraiser for the costume section of the met museum and she was there this year. so even if she did pay for the ticket the money goes directly to that non-profit cause. Take this with a grain of salt though because I really don't put any effort into keeping up with events like these. maybe i should but i'm just not particularly interested :) anyway this is quite long so i will put the rest under a cut.

as for her playing a cop- i think it's a good thing- her character occupies such a nuanced space; she's queer, a first nations woman adopted into a white cop family. yes she's a cop as well, but she's also a victim to that institution in a lot of the same ways reena was, and i think it makes for a great plot where she's forced to reckon with the institution she's a part of even though she is a marginalized woman in many ways. (i dont want to cite any specific things from the show because i don't really want to spoil anyone since the newest episode came out only yesterday, but there are several parallels between her and reena.)

As for her activism, with celebrities in general i don't necessarily look to them for moral guidelines. that isn't to say that i support any celebrities in any way with heinous views, but i'm also not keeping tabs on everything a celebrity who's work i enjoy has said about x y z issue. while i, too would imagine that she is sympathetic towards palestinians, i think it's not really fair to expect lily to take on every single issue concerning indigenous people around the world, seeing as indigenous people in north america alone are still in a shitty position (in terms of mmiw, threats to their land, mental health crises, natural disasters, and these are issues off the top of my head.) i think i also hold this opinion because i am a pretty privileged white woman and i think it would be beyond hypocritical to point at lily and go "you're not being a good activist for palestinians even though you're indigenous yourself!!" and this goes beyond whether i think of myself as a good activist or not. i also think that since she's really just 'broken through,' she doesnt want/maybe has been told not to rock the boat in that way in order to protect her future career, though i honestly dont know. it's not an excuse for not speaking out, but it's just something that came across my mind. again, take this all with a grain of salt.

Listen, this ain't my first fan rodeo, and not even the first fan rodeo where I've been directly or indirectly accused of being some sort of pervert or delulu. I've been in fandom spaces since I was a teen, I was shipping mlm couples when queerbaiting in TV shows was still something that was seen as the norm rather than some cheap disgusting trick. I was there when fanfic spaces saw "slash" fics as something "different" and to be tagged with a more mature rating even when they just looked at each other.

I was in BBC's Sherlock's fandom and I shipped Johnlock during the hiatus between S3 and S4, at this point I'm not even feeling it when people call me delulu or a weirdo.

So, yeah, take this with a grain of salt: as a person who has seen thousands of times fandom drama unfolding and has lived too much of it... This whole situation is so ridiculous it makes me laugh. Like, yeah, it's maddening how people will blame anyone and everyone because they don't even see their own bias and homophobia, granted, but like... It also makes me laugh for the sheer dumbassery of the reasoning behind it all?

Like... Y'all are getting mad and for what? Because it sure as hell isn't the invasion of privacy, since y'all are watching the same content we're all watching and you're paying to see it the same way everyone else is. If you don't want to "invade their privacy", you should just... Stop watching content that isn't their music videos, RUN episodes or interviews. Memories and any kind of dvd/video that shows what they're doing behind the scenes shouldn't be part of their job as musicians, and therefore we're intruding in their privacy... Or aren't we?

And it's also okay when people see that and gush over that closeness, because it's such a nice thing to see.

Now, if you're a big company and your objective is to have some footage of the rehearsals for a concert, and the fandom is too good at noticing stuff for their own good, and one of your artists comes in with a very visible mark, and he and his bff bropal4lyfe come n with a story about how they were playing and a bite happened, you've got three choices: 1. Cut the artist out of aaaaalll the footage. Someone would have noticed the "bite mark" anyway, you best believe that. If you don't want anyone to notice it, you gotta cut him in most of the footage where it's visible. 2. Keep the hickey, discard the explanations. You could do that, but also it would feel a lot more unfaithful to everyone involved. Also they clearly worked their ass off to invent an explanation, come on! They truly tried to do their best inventing something that was not "it's a mosquito bite", they should get some credit! 3. Keep the bite, keep the explanation.

Notice how none of these solutions include the biting never happening because... They couldn't prevent it? The only thing they have any control over is how they're framing each "accident". And that's not an easy job.

If this were really about privacy, or being "victims" of shipping... This should be about freeing him too, you know? Furthermore, don't we all know how much Jimin imposes himself in Jungkook's life? Heyo! So I’ve been in the sterek fandom for quite some time now and I’ve been wondering about how you would describe stiles’ personality?

I’ve never actually sat down and watched a full episode of teen wolf (and honestly I’m not sure if I ever will considering everything I’ve heard about how they treat derek and his history but idk who knows I’m very curious in a lot of the plot lines and character development), and a lot of the stuff I know about the show I’ve scraped from fics, gifs, and meta posts

For me personally, Stiles’ personality and characterization is so fluid and nuanced that sometimes I have trouble pinning him down (tho derek doesn’t have trouble with that *wink wink*) So I would love to hear your thoughts! Well, everybody's got different perspectives and opinions on Stiles' personality, honestly. Even when you try to stick to 'canon' things, there's a lot of room for interpretation on the why when he does things, or what it says about him as a person, etc etc etc.

Personally, I see canon Stiles as kind of an asshole. I mean, I love him, and he does some incredible things, and he's clearly got an intense love for those close to him. But I do make him kinder in fics, or I at least make him regret being a dick.

In canon, we're given a Stiles who cracks 'dead baby' jokes (he's talking about human sacrifice, so the conversation was already plenty morbid. This wasn't out of the blue.) Who begs for Scott to let Jackson die (though it's made clear that this wasn't serious, and he later works to save Jackson's hide like ten times over), and who will mercilessly poke and prod at people's insecurities or painful pasts, especially when worked up. Isaac's previous abuse isn't a no-go topic. Derek having 'dated' (read: been assaulted at worst and at best, been lied to) serial killers isn't something he's going to tread lightly around. He doesn't try to soften things to save someone's feelings most of the time.

He's presented as someone who is incredibly impulsive, with his emotions, words, and actions. It's kind of implied this is because of his ADHD, but that doesn't explain how often the impulsively cruel or harsh things he says aren't retracted or apologized for, or just generally regretted. Yes, ADHD people are impulsive, and yes sometimes our mouths get away from us and we can end up saying some Fucked Up shit to people because we literally couldn't control the words coming out. But that doesn't mean we're cruel or evil or mean. We still feel bad for doing those things, and those of us who are decent people, try to fix or repair what we've messed up. I am...not a fan of how often ADHD is used as an excuse to make a character a dickhead because "he has no filter." No filter means we struggle to control our thoughts and what we say, it doesn't make us heartless.

So, when I'm writing him, I fix it. Even if he still Does something fucked up, I have him care that he did it. I have him realize what he did or said wasn't okay and respond to that knowledge in some way. Which to some people, means I'm just ignoring what a fucker he is, but imo it feels like a horrible fuckup on the creator's parts, so I'm just correcting the mistake. He's no less Stiles just bc I taught him to say sorry.

Anyway. I'm trying NOT to ramble here.

To answer your question, as best I can; Stiles is sarcastic. Stiles is passionate to a fault. His emotions are BIG, whatever they are. Good, Bad, or even apathy. Whatever feelings he has are just intense. He is very much a no gods, no kings, no masters, kind of man. There isn't really an 'authority' to him, except maybe his dad sometimes. He puts family, and those he considers family, First. But that doesn't mean he isn't selfless. Because he is. Incredibly so. Uncomfortably so.

He walks into gasoline for his friends. He puts himself in the position of losing the only parent he has left, for his classmates. He cares enough about strangers to insist a drunk girl he's spoken to for five minutes max stay hydrated and give her a bottle of water. He literally handed over his mind on a platter to a fox demon for someone he barely fucking knew, to keep her safe.

Loyal. Humorous. A fighter. Family-oriented. Clever. Passionate. Strong, physically, mentally, and emotionally. And a very good liar, in my opinion.

He doesn't lie very well in the show, not to people's faces. He'll stumble around a "I haven't seen him since the last time I saw him" or "are you asking me to tell you what I would have told you if I were going to tell you it?" but at the same time, he can repress and hide away his feelings and his pain in a way not even Derek manages.

He asked Caitlin questions about her girlfriend, and worked to solve the human sacrifices, literal minutes after finding out he'd just lost his oldest friend. He drove Lydia to the warehouse to save Jackson after having the shit beat out of him by a man who'd been learning to cause pain since he was a CHILD. And he never gives away how incredibly broken he is for more than a couple seconds. and it's a little frightening, because he convinces people in this show who are lie detectors that he's okay, when he's a fucking mess. Even Derek shows his pain.

You're right that he's nuanced, and part of that is because when you see him in meta or in fic, what you're seeing is a dozen versions of him sort of compressed into a flat image. Because he changes throughout the show, and while some of his core personality stays the same, a lot of stuff changes. So one fic might harp on his insensitivity, and callousness toward Isaac or how easily he says "just let them die" when talking about Derek or someone else. And then another will dive into how fucking far he's willing to go, travelling all the way to mexico and facing down a hunter clan a dozen times more powerful than the argents with no one but a banshee at his side, just to get Derek back. Or how he saw Malia hurting and sat with her on a couch and held her hand. One is a much earlier version of Stiles, from the start of the show, the other from his midpoint. Near the end, you're able to say that he was so torn about leaving Derek while he was dying, he had to be Begged to go save Scott. That he manipulated an ENTIRE FBI investigation in order to save and protect Derek. (im focusing on derek bc sterek, but also bc his relationship with Derek is the Biggest Arc he has in the show, and the most solid)

You're going to read about different versions of him, and I totally get how that's confusing.

We all sort of bleed ourselves into him and either bring certain canon characteristics to the forefront, or straight up add our own so he's more relatable to us.

So while I can't really help you pin down any specific Stiles, just know that there's not really a 'true' Stiles that anyone can confirm or deny. It's all just perception, so however you see him, go with it. Strengthen it. Explore it. I'm sure you'll find people who see what you do.

So if the breakup was actually them talking to each other and being like “hey so this isnt working with sneaking out, we’re going to need to go back to the way it was before,” rather than them saying they were bad for each other???? Hoo boy i’d lose my mind

—Also!!! My favorite prediction, I’d die of joy if this happened (and also of angst). I want there to be so much drama with “secret relatinship” stuff that they try to fix it by going public with their relationship!! Very low chance of this actually happening but its okay if it doesnt, thats what the fanfiction I’m inevitably going to write immediately after watching the episode is for!!! But anyway,, multiple ways this could happen.

Maybe they’ve been secretly dating since Miracle Queen and they decide to go public at the beginning of this episode and that’s the primary source of plot/conflcit!!! I’d be thrilled!!!

BUT!!! if the episode ends with then Not Breaking Up, but instead deciding to go from dating secretly to dating publicly???? Holy Freaking Heck,,, I’d go feral with emotion!!!! I also need to expand on this so much more but basic rundown of how I imagine it could happen (again: Is it likely?? Probably not! but this is my last chance to dream):

Kagami is like “listen we have the same backstory and I KNOW in my soul that this relationship wouldn’t work if it was public”

Adrien is like “okay yeah I feel you, thats fair”

Kagami goes on dates with Adrien and its fun and nice and lovely and the honeymoon phase is so good and exciting

Adrien starts disappearing a lot, partly because of akuma attacks, but partly because of nathalie and gabe calling him constantly

Adrien starts to be like “well actually i think that my dad does care about me probably? And if he knew why I wanted to go he’d let me! Or at least Nathalie would because clearly she cares about me!”

Kagami is like “hhhnngg have you met them?? You think they’d want you to be happy and free??” Except she can’t just SAY that because if she did then she’d be crushing Adrien’s entire heart and possibly also making him get really defensive and he has to come to the conclusion that his parents are good on his own

Kagami also starts to get frustrated with how much more often Adrien has to leave than she does?? And its because of akuma attacks but she doesnt know that and he cant tell her

Adrien starts to get frustrated because he can take the “having to leave for akuma attacks” part but when he finally finishes an akuma battle and Natalie immediately calls him it is just aaaaaAAAAAAAA and he just wants to believe so badly that he could at least take control of that part??? He could at least get Nathalie to help him out??? Probably maybe right???

Because we all know he HATES having to keep secrets from Ladybug, but he’ll do it for her, and he’ll keep his life as Chat a secret, but Kagami??? He should at least be able to talk about that, right?? He’s not doing anything bad/dangerous/etc

Also there could very well be some angst with Adrien being so so worried about Nathalie because she’s bedridden and his dad is being sketchy and he’s SEEN this before and he doesn’t want to be avoiding Natalie or lying to her because what if he loses her too??? He’d feel so guilty! And he needs the support of a parent figure so much,,, so he HAS to tell her the truth

But he respects Kagami’s wishes and he’s not going to betray her trust

But unlike Lukanette, they DO talk about their feelings and they disagree and stuff, and even if he’s trying not to be confrontational, Kagami is like “i can tell youre uncomfortable about something, please just tell me what it is” so he tells her that he disagrees

Kagami gets akumatized?? idk if it’s even been confirmed that she’s the akuma “Lies” but I’d assume she is because parallels to Lukanette

Maybe it happens as a direct result of some moment where Kagami and Adrien are arguing and in the heat of the moment he says something hurtful??

Maybe they’re arguing and then Adrien has to leave before it can resolve and Kagami is mad about it even though shes trying not to be and she gets akumatized???

Maybe she does say something like “bc your dad sucks and nathalie sucks!” and he yells or something (i want to see Adrien yell and be flawed let me live, and this is one of the most likely scenerios for it to happen bc it would HURT for him)

Maybe Kagami shoots back with anger, maybe Adrien’s been calm but Kagami gets mean for a moment, but regardless, Kagami says something about her true feelings of anger at nathalie/gabe/ etc and before Adrien can respond he’s like “oh shoot sorry I need to get home NOW”

Then for one brief second Kagami’s TERRIFIED that he’s going to tell nathalie about this in his anger and then nathalie’s going to be like “oh kagami is clearly bad for you because she made u this upset” and Adrien will LISTEN because hes stupid and he still listens to his horrible adult figures and Kagami is so mad about the entire situation so then in her moment of weakness she gets akumatized

Look at that its a direct opposite of Lukanette because Luka was afraid of Marinette keeping secrets about why she’s always vanishing because he doesnt know and Kagami is afraid of Adrien telling secrets about why HEs always vanishing bc she thinks she does know,,

But anyway, after she gets de-akumatized, she’s so ashamed of it and she can see how far she took it and how many people it hurt,, and Adrien is really sad and apologetic and trying to support her,, and she’s like “no clearly I was actually wrong, keeping this a secret is hurting you and its hurting me and now its hurting random civilians”

So she tells Adrien that they should tell people about it and stop dating in secret

And then multiple possible ending:

Does he say “actually no, youre right, they wouldnt let this happen, so if we cant date in public and dating in secret is hurting us then we shouldnt date at all” and thats how the breakup goes??? That would literally obliterate me

Does the episode end on a false positive where Adrien hasnt told them yet and he is like “yeah this is gonna be great” and there isnt an actual breakup yet?? Because that would also kill me (even though i doubt theyre going to let adrimi take up that much time in the show but, let me dream)

Also if Adrien is like “we shouldnt tell my parents but we should tell someone” and then they tell Marinette and now shes got ANOTHER secret to keep and aaaaaaaAAAAA?? Id die on the spot

I’m still holding out hope that the episode will give me enough crumbs to at least be able to write this better, but regardless of what happens in the episode,,, the chances of me eventually writing fanfiction exploring this are SO HIGH, I’ve been thinking about this for ages

In conclusion:

—no matter what happens in lies, its going to destroy me

—please let them be in a secret relationship it makes so much sense for their characters and for the drama and aaaaAAAAA

—also please give me the parallels to lukanette where their issues are exactly the opposite and it still falls apart

Thank you for your time, I’ll be excitedly vibrating at the speed of sound for the next two days until we get answers!! Depending on how the episode goes, I’ll either be writing so much adrimi fluff to recover,, so much adrimi angst to vent,, or I’ll be staring at the ceiling screaming for a few days as I post nothing but keysmashes and try to sort through my emotions :)

This is basically a huge infodump on my thoughts about the first episode, because I doubt y’all want to sift through my trauma-ridden ramblings. I’ll make another post for the rest. This is just everything not related to the IW stuff/my reaction to that. It’s general thoughts, theories, musings.

1. When Loki gets first taken into the TVA. Is that Peggy Carter in the background? Others have suggested it might be. What would that mean??? Will we see the TVA fix the mess the Russos made with Steve/Peggy (not likely) or is it just a lookalike? Who knows..

2. A skrull at the main intake desk! Idk not super relevant just interesting!

3. I’m kind of glad they changed the... uncomfortable scene... with the robot burning his clothes off. He gets more time to react to seeing the machine itself, and he seems more shocked (”Now.. H-hang on just a minute.”) than angry (”Now hang on just a minute!”) i still feel.. horrible for him, i’m glad nobody Saw him and that the machine didn’t grab the clothes off, but still. Ehhh.. uncomfortable.

He is beautiful though, don’t get me wrong - I’d just prefer a shirtless Loki scene where he wants to be shirtless? let him do what he wants with his body?? he’s probably felt so out of control of his body, from being jotun to falling through space that any invasion of privacy like that hits extra deep...

That being said, I recognize the utility of the scene for the narrative - his lack of control, his literally being stripped of what he was before.

4. WHO IS THE MAN WITH THE CAT. What is his name. I love that he has a mug with his cat on it. But I want to know more. Who is he?

4.1 WHY DIDNT YOU LET LOKI PET THE CAT Please,,, I am begging you,,, let loki pet the cat and have something react kindly to him and purr all happily at his scratching behind their ears plea s e

5. The info sheet. Now this is just a little nitpicky tidbit, but in a previous promo they listed Loki’s height as 6′4 ft and weight as 525 lbs. This is taken directly from the comics if I’m not mistaken. However, in the actual show he’s listed as  6′2 (Tom’s height and Loki’s presumed height) but I don’t remember if his weight is the same. Is Loki 6′2? 6′4? please let me know i want to know how smol i am in comparison

6. His little aggressive shaking of the ticket at the guard makes me giggle each time.

7. The fact the turnstile hits so low on him reminds me,, I am short compared to him. Those things hit my stomach/waist. That one hit his legs. I am once again asking Loki to pick me up.

8. The cartoon with Miss Minutes introducing the TVA is wonderful, I love the art style especially. But it raises questions about Variants... I guess Variants can just, pop out of nowhere? Any action could be the wrong one? And then once you commit the wrong action you either get returned or pruned? Yikes??? And THIS ties into another thing later!

9. The trial scene. I have a hunch - a feeling, a suspicion. That one of three things may be true.

A. The Time-Keepers never actually existed. They’re fabricated, and now whoever runs the TVA is actually using the excuse of “The Time-Keepers decree it so!!!” to carry out whatever They think is right. The fact we haven’t seen the Time-Keepers makes me.. suspicious...

B. The Time-Keepers existed, but they have since passed on, however that may have happened. Now someone is doing the same as above, using the excuse of the Time-Keepers apparent dictations to run things.

C. The Time-Keepers do exist, and do run the timeline/TVA, but maybe they’re not infallible? Maybe the TVA info video is lying or incomplete in some way? Idk I just feel like, something about the TVA and how they run things has to be wrong. It has to? Something is off. Again, this will tie into another thought later...

I have no idea if any of these are actually true! But Loki’s questions of “Who’s in charge here? What do they do? What do you do?” punctuated by laughter leads me to believe he’s suspecting something too, or perhaps just trying to figure this mess out.

10. Seiðr/Magic. We see in this scene, Loki’s magic (”powers”) don’t work in the TVA. (and a quick side note, did he have to Flex like that? do you have to make me see Loki’s bare arms Flex like that? be still my heart. anyway please get that collar off of him and let him rest for five minutes) This makes me wonder.. Why isn’t Loki in his Jotun form? His pale skin and blue eyes are decided by magic, are they not? I suppose this is 2012, so perhaps Odin’s magic is keeping Loki looking like that. But if magic doesn’t work in the TVA, why would his spell reach so far? Clearly Loki’s magic isn’t what’s doing it. How is Loki not appearing as a Jotun? Is his Jotun form repressed - is pale skin his default now, rather than something hidden by magic? I need answers!

11. he sounds so scared about being “reset” please dont hurt him,,

12. cALLING LOKI A PUSSYCAT? (lokitty confirmed) I think Mobius was goading him (Mobius strikes me.. As extremely clever. He’s trying to push Loki’s buttons to see who he’s dealing with. At least, I hope so. Because if he really meant that “You were born to cause pain and suffering and death... All so that others can achieve the best versions of themselves.” and that line about killing Frigga??? No no no he is not guilty. He had no way of knowing what would happen. It wasn’t right to send Algrim up to Asgard (i think algrim wouldve found the way up anyway) but there was no intent to hurt Frigga. I really hope you’re trying to goad him, Mobius, because if you believe that I trust you much less. anyway i digress) but wow is he pushing Loki’s buttons a lot. I can’t... Blame him entirely, I understand he’s trying to make sure Loki’s on his side, maybe I’m just too soft for Loki idk. But some of that was very cruel to say. /:

12.1 AND ANOTHER THING ABOUT MOBIUS. That scene with the girl in the church?? Did that little girl kill the men? Is that young Sylvie? Or is she using an illusion to make herself look young and innocent? What’s going on!!!!

13. LOKI SNATCHING THE LITTLE TIME-TWISTER DEVICE AND STOWING IT IN HIS POCKET.... POCKET....... sorry sometimes i get so caught up about loki that i just say random words in between little noises and squeals,,, i am a silly thing

14. CASEY. CASEY??? That whole exchange is funny. Poor Loki, just trying to intimidate this guy so he can escape but - Casey doesn’t know what a fish is. to be fair.... thor doesn’t seem to know what a raccoon is... right?

15. That bit with the infinity stones is kind of funny until you realize

A. Natasha died for a paperweight

B. Tony died from paperweights

C. Loki was tortured for paperweights

D. Oh, and Gamora died for a paperweight too. And Vision. Need I go on?

Then it becomes less of exclusively “haha funny” and now it’s a mix of funny and pain and gosh, is that a good way to sum up being a Marvel/Loki fan sometimes...

16. Loki gazing at the timeline all “Is this the most powerful thing in the universe?” or something, i’m sorry i don’t remember exactly... made me think of a meme and i shall make it presently.

17. I love that Loki got to see examples of how his family loves him but the fact he’s all “I can’t go back.” really just breaks me. It’s like he can finally see they love him after all of this mess, and now he doesn’t have the chance. Please, please let him be happy. Give him some relief. This is the Loki that just came off finding out about being Jotun, falling from the Bifrost, encountering Thanos, attacking Earth, facing defeat, and now he’s being thrashed around in this wild place and has just found out he inadvertently caused Frigga’s death (he did not kill her: his actions, by mistake, lead to her murder, let me be very clear) AND Odin will die AND all the rest... And he wants to be with them.

18. Loki’s reaction to Thor suggesting the hug makes me soft. Please I want to hug this little mischief man so so so bad-

19. Skipping over the iw parts! That’s for another post because this one will be grossly long anyway.

20. “I don’t enjoy hurting people.” and “It's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate play for control.” was all so, so validating. I’ve been trying to argue on Loki’s behalf for almost a solid decade. Seeing the show recognize that Loki’s not all just violence and hurting for “fun”, that he’s not unhinged and bloodthirsty.. Is so nice. It’s just so, so comforting. and it gives me hope for future episodes that they won’t go the route of “oh haha loki bullied and mistreated and stabbed thor for years!!! :)” loki cries during basically every fight with Thor and you want me to believe he stabs Thor for fun? absolutely not.

21. Theory.. Just another hunch.. So we know a fugitive variant, aka Loki, is running amok. Refer back to 8 and 9.C. What if the Time-Keepers never actually fixed the timeline into a single timeline? What if there are other timelines, and these different Loki variants have hopped over to the current one? Or, maybe the Time-Keepers did fix the timeline into a single one, and these Lokis are remnants from that huge time-war at the beginning? Time runs differently in relative spaces, they may have Just Left that war from their perspective!

I say Lokis and not Loki because we’re pretty sure there’s Female/Lady Loki, Old Man/King Loki, and possibly Young/Kid Loki. That’s at least three. From the peeks of Asgard and NYC we’ve seen from the trailers, I think we’re also getting an Asgardian King!Loki and Midgardian King/Vote!Loki. (unless our dearest variant is hopping into timelines and situating into them, but I doubt Mobius would let that happen..?) That’s five.

To further support this, keep in mind, I believe recently six (i think 6 regular and 6 rare...) different funko pops were announced for the series? I’m not sure if they’re in addition to the Loki and Mobius already released. If they are, there’s enough room for each Loki and maybe a TVA agent. One of the pops is supposed to have a buddy/companion I think? Maybe they’re making the cat guy into one, or maybe there’s something else (Throg, anyone?).

22. That is totally Lady Loki/Sylvie at the end by the way. Has to be. But why does she want the reset devices? Why did she snatch that TVA Hunter? Again, WHAT’S GOING ON

Secrets in a Foreign Language (Part Five) - Jungkook

*Quick Warning* This chapter contains some smut! If that makes you uncomfortable I’m so sorry. Once it starts it ends at the very end of the chapter so you can skip it if you want. After the kiss between you and Jungkook there was a significant shift in your relationship. You still came over every Tuesday to hang out, but now you were much more flirty, touchier, and most days you ended up on the couch in a heavy make out session. You absolutely loved kissing Jungkook; loved the way he tasted, the way he let out soft moans whenever you sucked on his tongue, the way his hands would slightly pull at the hair that rested at the nape of your neck. The sexual tension between you two was building; you had let him feel you underneath your shirt once while he was busy leaving red marks on your neck, but you still had yet to completely give yourself to each other, and you couldn’t deny that you wanted him.

You wanted him so bad.

And based on the bulge you felt in his pants whenever the two of you were ravishing hungrily at each other’s mouths he wanted you, too. Honestly, you didn’t want to wait much longer, you couldn’t wait much longer. Jungkook wasn’t the only one with those pesky things called hormones you know, and yours were practically screaming his name. It was only a matter of time.

 On one particular Tuesday in the evening, it was pouring outside and the two of you were cuddled under a blanket on his couch watching an episode of a Korean drama. Jungkook’s arm was wrapped around your shoulders as your head lay on his chest, his resting on top of yours. He was warm and smelled like laundry, and the fabric of his t shirt felt soft against your cheek. You were so comfortable and content.

Eventually, the end of the episode neared, the credits rolling on the screen, and suddenly you felt a wet droplet of something land on the arm that was laying on Jungkook’s lap. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up in confusion, only to be met with the red nose and tear stained cheeks of Jeon Jungkook.

Your eyes went wide, and you immediately sat up to face him.

  “Kook are you-are you crying?” you questioned in concern.

He quickly wiped the tears from his face and hid it in his arms.

  “What? No! I’m not crying!” he muffled out from his sleeves.

Then he let out a loud sniffle.

  “Jungkook,” you shook his upper arm gently, “…is it because of the show?”

There was a silence before he muttered a barely audible,

 “Maybe…”

A huge grin spread across your face and you wrapped your arm through his, running your other hand through his soft black locks.

 “It’s okay, Kook. You’re allowed to cry, I don’t mind.” You tried reassuring him, making sure he knew he had no reason to be embarrassed.

He slowly lifted his head up revealing his blotchy face and puffy eyes, a small shy smile on his lips.

 “It’s just…” he hesitated then motioned to the tv screen, “they’re so good for each other. They’re meant for each other. Why can’t they just be together? It’s tearing them apart.”

You shrugged and wiped away a tear on his cheek with the pad of your thumb.

“I don’t know… I guess sometimes life gets in the way. It’s not always that easy. Even though they seem happy when they’re together and might be soulmates it doesn’t automatically mean it will work out.”

He stared down at his lap and fiddled with the fingers of yours that he held in his hand.

“But can’t they find a way to make it work? When people are meant for each other, isn’t there always a way?”

You couldn’t help but smile at his sensitivity and obvious hopeless romantic ideals... just when you thought you couldn’t like him any more.

He suddenly shot his head up to look at you, his doe eyes wide, lips slightly parted. Then he shook his head and scrunched his eyes tightly shut, putting fingers up to the bridge of his nose.

“Aiiishh, you probably think I’m such a loser.”

You quickly took his hands in yours and squeezed them firmly, making him open his eyes to face you again.

 “No Jungkook, no. I don’t think you’re a loser at all. I think it’s sweet. Really sweet. Okay? Your huge heart is one thing I like most about you.”

And you really meant it.

He ran a hand through his hair, a blush on his face.

 “Thanks, (y/n).”

You gave him a warm smile.

 “And we’re not done with the show yet, you know. Who knows what will happen between them.”

He let out a small chuckle.

 “That’s true.”

You then patted his thigh and removed the blanket before standing up.

 “Hey, how about I make you something for dinner? Maybe some kimchi fried rice with pork? I think I saw you have all the stuff to make it.”

Jungkook eagerly nodded his head.

 “I do and I would love that, (y/n). Can I-can I help?”

You grinned down at him and shook your head.

 “Nope, I got this.”

He blushed shyly and put his head down.

 “Ah thank you. It’s not often I have someone cook dinner for me, you know.”

You ambled into the kitchen and looked over your shoulder saying,

 “Well just sit back and relax and I’ll try to let you know if I think I’m about to set something on fire!”

Luckily, you didn’t, and the meal you made for the two of you turned out even better than you could have imagined. Who knew you had a knack for cooking Korean food? It was delicious, and definitely something you could get used to having.

When you both finished you just sat at the island laughing and talking for a while before you stood up to clean.

 “No,” Jungkook swiftly rose to his feet and took the dirty bowls from your hands, “it’s okay, I will clean.”

 You cocked you head.

“But isn’t that what I get paid to do here?” you joked.

He just smiled and rolled his eyes and strolled over to the sink.

Suddenly a yawn unexpectedly escaped from your mouth and you glanced at the time on your phone.

 “Whoa, it’s a lot later than I thought. Maybe I should get going.”

With his back to you Jungkook just replied with an ‘okay’ and you opened the Seoul Subway app on your phone to see when the next train was coming.

 “Wait, what??” you suddenly exclaimed.

Jungkook turned around in confusion.  

 “Is everything okay?”

You didn’t look up as your eyes quickly scanned through the urgent message on your screen.

 “The subway system… it’s-it’s not running tonight! Shit…”

He furrowed his eyebrows.

 “What? Why is it not running?”

You put your face in your hand in frustration.

 “Because of the rain. I guess it has flooded the tracks at a lot of the stations and it’s not safe to run the trains. Fuck! Stupid monsoon season! How will I get home??”

You bit your lip in thought. A taxi? But if it’s even too dangerous for the subway to run wouldn’t the streets be flooded, too?

You swiftly shuffled over to the large window in the living room and peered down to see if you could gage the current condition of the streets of Seoul, but it was raining so hard nothing was visible but just a few feet down. You only saw the soft yellow glow of the streetlights through the torrential downpour.

You groaned and turned back around where you noticed Jungkook had followed you into the room.

You looked at the ground awkwardly.

 “Do you mind if I stay just, like, an hour longer? See if it let’s up a little out there?”

Jungkook nodded his head and for a brief moment your heart sank. But then he said,

 “I was going to say why don’t you just stay for the night.”

Your heart suddenly sped up, an obvious shocked expression apparent on your face since a deep blush appeared on his and he added,

 “You know, because I have another bedroom that no one ever sleeps in and… yeah…”

Wait, did you suddenly feel slightly disappointed?

 “Thank you, but I really don’t want to be a bother…” you mumbled.

Jungkook stepped toward you and engulfed you in a hug. You let yourself relax into his muscular frame.

He chuckled against you.

 “You could not be a bother. It would be nice having you here with me.”

The sincerity in his tone made your stomach flip.

 “And I would… rather know you are here safe,” he whispered, sending a shiver up your spine.

That made your heart feel full as you peered back up at him. His dark brown eyes were hooded and staring directly into yours with such ferocity you almost had to look away.

But you didn’t. And immediately his hand was cupping your cheek and he was crashing his lips onto yours. He wasted no time in running his tongue along your bottom lip, making you gasp slightly, allowing entrance. You relished in his taste, the wrestling of tongue on tongue. You moaned when he nibbled your bottom lip, pulling it away gently. Your hands went to his soft hair, running them through it, tugging lightly. A deep moan emitted from his throat and it was a sound you knew you couldn’t wait to hear again.

Jungkook’s large hands found their way under the hem of your shirt, lightly grazing the skin of your hips and creating goosebumps at his touch. He slowly slid them upwards, taking your shirt with them, until it was up and over your head and you were left in just your nude-colored bra. He then began sucking and biting gently at your neck which caused you to tilt your head back, a subtle invitation for him to invade more of it with his heavenly feeling mouth to which he happily obliged. At the same time, he reached behind your back, slowly unfastening the hooks of your bra. You let it slide down your arms and onto the floor beneath you.

He wasted no time in giving your breasts the attention they deserved. His tattoo covered hand began massaging one, flicking his thumb across your hardened nipple. His lips moved from the sweet spot of your neck down to the valley between your breasts and finally they encapsuled your other nipple. He suckled on it lightly and flicked his tongue over it in unison with his thumb on the other which caused a soft moan to erupt from your throat and your hand to pull at his hair. When you looked down at him worshiping your mounds, you were met with his messy black hair, eyes shut, nose rubbing against your sensitive skin. He had never looked more beautiful to you than in this moment. And you wanted him to know.

 “Kook…” you groaned out tenderly.

His big brown eyes opened and peered up at you, his tongue still swirling around your hardened nub.

 “I-I want you. Please.”

Hearing that, he immediately stood up straight and crashed his lips back onto yours. Then he wrapped his well-built arms around your midsection and hoisted you up, making you yelp at the sudden action of being lifted. Your legs instinctively went around his waist, and he held you tightly under the back of your thighs, your ass resting in his palms. You traced some of the tattoos on his arm with your finger as you two lay there in a content silence, completely wrapped up in one another. It was the most blissful feeling.

In fact, you didn’t think you could feel any calmer and content in this moment until Jungkook broke the silence and whispered,

 “I really, really like you a lot, (y/n).”

At those words you felt like your heart could leap out of your chest. You turned in his arms to face him and looked up at him with a big smile.

 “I really, really, like you a lot, too, Jungkook.”

He returned your smile, equally as large, his nose scrunching as he was unable to contain his happiness. He just pulled you closer to him and you buried your face in the crook of his neck while he rested his chin on your head. You sighed contently, breathing in the comforting natural scent of his skin.

You had never felt safer or more loved than in this moment with Jeon Jungkook.

This kind of love Marinette has for Adrien needs to stop and here’s why:

Guys, I really try to like Marinette and understand her (just like Luka lol) but she just... makes me feel too uncomfortable with her choices sometimes.

Adrien went to Shangai with his dad to do some work stuff and he couldn’t go to some picnic with his friends so he was kind of sad about it. He didn’t have a lot of bonding moments with the people he likes from school and he wants to spend time with them the most, after all, he’s just a teenager, he want to have fun and be loved. Okay, that’s cute, Adrien’s cute we know that but MARINETTE ON THE OTHER HAND OHMYGAAAAHD

She just discovered that Adrien flew to Shangai by Alya and couldn’t believe her friend ‘cause she (still) has the whole Adrien’s schedule in hands. So she decided that the best choice to do was to fly to Shangai to just to see him. WHAT??

I mean, okay, she still likes him, but I thought she was trying to forgive him somehow? I don’t think that’s a good method lol

Continuing, she decided to go to Shangai and not to go to the picnic Adrien longs so much to go - there’s a difference in priorities here that just hurts me because now that she’s the guardian she won’t have ANY time, so you probably should spend time with your friends instead of running to a guy you want to forget, right? Anyway, what she did to her friends was bad but not the worst. The worst part was her parents (oh my god her parents...)

So, she go to the bakery and tell her parents that she wants to go to Shangai because she wants to connect herself to her origins, her culture. AND GUYS, they were overwhelmed. Her mom was so happy and her dad almost cried and they showed her some money they were saving SINCE FOREVER because they knew that day will come. She lied to them just for some boy and made me feel bad for them and that’s the reason why I’m writing all this. I mean, let me just explain a little bit in case you’re not convinced that it was the worst.

Xia Ping was born and raised in China, moved to France, got her name changed to Sabine and fell in love with Tom. I’m not an asian kid, but I know how important going to your ancestors’ country is. It’s a self-love and a self-knowledge experience that would change your life forever. But she just wasted all that development her parents wanted her to have when she chose go to there just because of a guy (she should be over with). I was truly heart broken when I saw a little box with money they where saving... she could just wait for Adrien to come back to France, go to the picnic and have a good time.

I won’t only bad mouth Marinette because there was some things that got me less mad about her.

She was, indeed, going to connect herself with her origins going to Shangai, and at the same time, have some real alone time with Adrien because no one else will be there, so she could just be happy and maybe something more, idk

They didn’t tell us how much time Adrien was going to be away from Paris (one week, two months, we don’t know) so maybe if it was a really long time MAYBE going to Shangai to see him wasn’t a bad idea because she would miss him very much (she shouldn’t but we already had that talk) and she would still have the time to find herself in Chinese culture. At the end of the episode we did see Marinette going through a tour and discovering knew things in Shangai in the final image of the episode, which was nice, it means that after all that stuff that happened, she still had the time to do the thing she should be doing there.

In conclusion, I just meant to say that I don’t want to see that obsession Marinette has for Adrien ever again. That’s not love, that’s worshiping and people around her should tell her that it’s not okay. Her obsession didn’t think of her friends and family feelings, that’s not healthy at all. It will appear some consequences from this “love”she thinks she’s feeling in the future and it will be really bad for her, but that’s growth, and it’s her turn now.

1) Half Past Midnight - my first re-emergence into writing and publishing CSI fic after many, many years (though honestly I don’t count a lot of my teenage stuff cause it was hot garbage anyway) and I didn’t actually even notice until I think I posted the first or second chapter that technically, when the team is watching the feed for the first time, it is a little half past midnight so. that was just cool to sort of subconsciously gather lmao

2) The All In series: Atrophy, Agony, Augury - Alliteration, pure and simple lmao very satisfying and esp in my most recent graphic series for it. It’s all about that Suffering

3) Agony Ch. 26: Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve - The longest I’ve written for any of my multi-chaps to date, this chapter means a lot to me on so many levels and I feel like it’s title is due in part to my own bout of agony going on with some pretty severe depression so. Yay self projection

4) Specimen Stokes & its chapter titles - Even before the shrinking twist I was giddy about dubbing Nick a “specimen” just for the like. idk, human experimentation aspect and because he’s super hot. The chapter titles are all composed of things you’d find in a lab which has actually started to become a little tricky for me (and I super want to name this one chapter “Feed My Frankenstein” but it’ll break the trend lol) but I had a dream recently about a chapter called “scissors” and I know exactly what would happen in it. Whether that’ll be this story or the sequel, I’m stoked.

5) First Flight - It originally had a double meaning but I scrapped half of the fic’s plot for reasons but recently I figured out how to restore that double meaning with a brand new twist that wasn’t necessarily gonna happen. I also have a tentative chapter called “no cake in the breakroom” that’s gonna be the most angsty, gut wrenching thing I ever write and I’m weirdly excited for it

6) Finder’s Fee - Out of all of my episode-related titles I actually think I like this one the most? and by that I mean where I either twist the name of the episode (i.e, Assume Nothing > Everything Assumed) or take a line from the episode as the title. This was another “means a lot to me” fic too (coughSelfProjectioncough)

7) For Your Viewing Pleasure - Okay this was another episode related one and I just like it cause it was a super underrated creepy ass line in Grave Danger and I wrote an entire fic about it in a week. out of nowhere.

8) Last Breath & its chapter titles - Mostly composed of song titles, I tried to choose things that would kinda give a clue/set the tone for the chapter. I’m a sucker for Evanescence’s knack for angst in their lyrics lmao

9) Hollow Heart & its chapter titles (specifically “The Rescue”) - My first lemon fic! Angsty lemon!!!! Really kinda harder on the angst than the lemon aspect esp since I’m (still) not that good at writing smut but! I thought it turned out pretty good.

10) Stone Heart - Grave Danger AU, so naturally love it because of that, but it’s a reference to the lyrics of Outside Chance and something I actually want to get tattoo’d some day (I’m thinking a tattoo of the tape recorder, a pair of glow sticks, and a ribbon that reads “stone heart” on it)

I swear I do actually love more of my fic titles but these were the ones that resonate with me right now.

(and if you’ll notice, I used that song for the “trailer” I made even though I gotta finish Agony first LMAO)

Bonus #3 The Pancho Problem/The Sanders Solution - The Pancho Problem was one of the earlier CSI fics I posted when I started publishing in 2018/2019 but unfortunately I had a moment of weakness and deleted what I had going for it. I do want to revisit it one day and re-work what I thought was wrong and one of my chapter titles for the Pancho Problem was “The Girl with the Flower Tattoo” which at the time, I thought was fucking amazing.

Bonus #4 The Beast You Made of Me: More Nick in captivity, but think of The Most Dangerous Game for the human hunting aspect, and idk other creepy shit like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for torture. Let’s Go Steal A Seder

(Sort of a continuation of this post about how Sophie should be Jewish.)

Kay uh, once again, I’m not Jewish, and my info is mostly from inter-religious seders I’ve been to (the kind actually run by Jewish people, not the “Christians try to do what they think Passover is” kind) supplemented by wikipedia, so I apologize if anything is Wrong or Bad and I would be super happy to hear Right and Good corrections or for folks to jump in and add better ideas! Also, gonna tag @binateford again cause you were happy I was thinking of you in the last one, lmk if you want me to stop doing that though. 

- Season 3 would be the perfect time for Sophie to say “Well we made such a big deal out of Christmas, you can all at least sit down in one place for a little while so we can have a family Passover.”

- Crap, I just remembers that she gives Nate The Name at the end of the Ho Ho Ho Job and that ruins one of my ideas. So I’m retconning that, he does NOT get The Name at that time, he gets it at the end of this episode after he finally stops being a dick and does something actually thoughtful and sweet idk what. So Anyway Nate’s still trying to guess her real name and throughout the episode he keeps guessing increasingly inappropriate Hebrew names (by inappropriate I mean like, they’re names of historical figures Sophie dislikes or they’re boys’ names or they have unfortunate meanings or something -- it’s not supposed to be  “haha that’s a funny sounding name” it’s supposed to be “haha Nate thinks he knows everything but he doesn’t”)

- Also, Nate is really uncomfortable with the idea especially since obviously they’re hosting it at his place, but there is of course an easy way to rope him in: “Well, of course I’m not going to make you participate, I guess we’ll just pour your four glasses of wine down the drain. . . .” “No, ah, actually, I think it’s a great idea!”

- SOPHIE AND ELIOT COOKING TOGETHER

- Parker opens the door for Elijah but she’s very confused about whether this is actually someone they’ve invited or whether it’s like Santa or what. She’s somewhat suspicious of it but by the end is probably talking about Elijah like she totally has known him for years and Sophie’s like “Okay well we’re getting warmer at least.”

- Maybe Nate earns The Name by surreptitiously adding the orange to the table as a gesture that he actually did some research after all and as an acknowledgment of Sophie’s leadership and of all of them being, uh, Definitely Not Straight and also just a queer set of people?

- I don’t remember this part well so I’m using wikipedia, but I think you could match up each character besides Sophie to one of the Four Sons? Clearly Hardison is the Wise Son, he wants the details, how it’s done. Nate is the Wicked Son not necessarily because of his character traits but because in this episode he’s obviously the one feeling like he’s not part of what’s going on (especially cause, again, we’re in Season 3 where he’s kind of having to earn everybody’s trust back). I thought Parker should be the child who does not know how to ask, but then that makes Eliot the simple child and that seems rude, but maybe I just don’t understand that part well. 

- I keep referring to this as an Episode because the planning and discussion of it MUST be taking place over the course of an episode and then the actual seder happens at the end, but I have no idea what kind of job is going on in the meantime??? Probably one that Sophie can take lead on since this is a Sophie Episode. Has to be thematically relevant somehow but..... idk, anybody have thoughts?

- [edit to add] Yet another good thing about it being Season Three is Sophie is just getting back from her trip around the world to Find Herself, and personally I’ve never been completely satisfied with the conclusion of that arc -- she comes back, she shares her real name, and that’s kind of all there is to it? So this would be a great sort of epilogue where she’s like acknowledging that her Found Family is part of her real identity and she wants to share more of her actual self with them.

ST: TNG S4 Watchthrough Episodes 22-25

Half a Life: Okay Lwaxana, let's see if the fourth time is the charm. So… gonna be honest, this episode just made me uncomfortable with the subject matter. Essentially Lwaxana becomes friendly with a man named Timicin… who is going to commit suicide as part of his culture due to his age. needless to say, I thoroughly am not okay with this. The episode does delve into it like Lwaxana reacts as you would expect and there are points made about how she has no right to interfere in others cultures/personal beliefs and how we treat middle-aged individuals nearing their elder years. But… y’know… a society that dictates that you kill yourself at 60 is… I’m sorry, I just cannot discuss this topic fairly. While I am opinionated, I do try my best to be fair… but I’m just not comfortable enough to discuss this topic in this way because I thoroughly disagree with suicide as acceptable on any level. At least not with how it was done here. That being said, being fair, I can give some praise. First, David Ogden Stiers! Heck yes~! I love his work in various Disney films, and he was excellent here! And on Lwaxana… I liked her here. Not only is her man-chasing ways with a man who is receptive to it so it feels less dumb/annoying/kinda creepy and more charming and legitimately entertaining than when she’s forcing it on Picard, but frankly I was on her side throughout the episode. When suicide is involved, someone should intervene and Timicin shouldn’t have to die just because he’s hit 60 and they don’t want to burden their children with caring for the elderly. My dad died at 54, and I never hesitated in trying to care for him. No one in my family did. But you could see Lwaxana’s pain and grief and when she broke down in the Transporter Room to Troi… God. I may not be the biggest fan of her character, but the poor woman just needs a big hug. In the end, it's really hard for me to tell which side the episode is standing with. it chooses to shoot down the middle with Timicin choosing to go through with it and Lwaxana finally allowing it… but it doens’t feel like we’re supposed to be okay with it. I get it, it’s their planet’s beliefs and whether one should interfere in one's culture or not is a legit question… but when it comes to matters like this I just… IDK. Like I said IDK if I can give this a fair opinion because again, I just don’t agree with the subject matter whatsoever and it just feels utterly wrong. Maybe it’s supposed to, but… yeah. I’m gonna be fair here and shoot down the middle for the rating because I can’t say it’s a poorly done episode and the personal bias may be affecting my judgment… but it is certainly one I am unlikely to revisit. 3/5.

The Host: Crusher’s got a boyfriend, aww~! Too bad that he ends up dead, aww… but it’s okay! Turns out they’re actually a symbiote known as a Trill in a host body and they stick him into Riker in the meantime! Uhh… sure? Is this how it works for Jadzia in DS9? So the symbiote, Odon, is also an Ambassador and still needed, so Riker volunteers to be that host… despite no human ever carrying a Trill before. Needless to say, this not only causes issues for Riker but… well, muddies up Crusher and Odon’s relationship quite a bit. This makes sense, Odon not only mentioning this detail but being a symbiote that goes from body to body can be hard to settle. Crusher does eventually decide to try and make it work despite the awkwardness because she genuinely loves Odon, who is suffering due to Riker’s body just not being suitable. It’s fine, it’s certainly an interesting concept… until we get to the ending. What causes Crusher to break it off with Odon? His new host body suited for them… is a woman’s body. Now she says it’s because she just can’t handle the body hopping and I’m gonna take that as the truth… but the way the episode portrays it, it’s more like she can’t handle the body hopping into a female body despite her saying that’s not it. I know, I know it was the 90’s and again I’m just gonna act like seeing the new body was when the reality was hitting Crusher and she realized that it was just too much too fast. I can buy that. But again, the execution makes it feel… well, there’s no other way to say it, homophobic/biphobic/transphobic. Again 90’s, but still. At least the Trill’s aren’t picky about their gender at least physically, I can respect that. But yeah… needless to say this has quite a few unfortunate implications under a modern lens. Still, it was alright. Considering Jadzia in DS9, I’m looking forward to seeing more about the Trills then. The episode was alright, I just wish that the ending was more open-minded because it really put a damper on my final opinion. It shows that for all its progressiveness, ST still has plenty of prejudices from the real-life eras that they were made in. I’m just glad that we’re at least beginning to improve now. 2/5.

The Mind’s Eye: Geordi has been kidnapped by the Romulans. That sucks… and it gets worst when they conduct a painful mind-control experiment on him. Why? Well, the Enterprise is en route to deal with a Klingon insurrection and have a Klingon ambassador on board. They want Geordi to kill said the ambassador and thus crumble apart from the Federation/Klingon alliance. So yeah, bad. Geordi is a good boy, in romantically hopeless, he didn’t deserve this! Poor guy isn’t even aware of what he’s doing and can’t even sleep properly. It especially got tense there in the end as Data started piecing everything together… just as Geordi is readying to execute the assassination. Thank God that they managed to stop him, but again, poor Geordi. Oh and the fact that there was a Klingon turncoat on board triggering the order… yeah. Looks like Duras wasn’t the only Klingon in ona. Romulan conspiracy. Geordi’s left with implanted memories and the trauma of undergoing a brainwashing that he can’t even remember happening. Another solid episode that continues the threat of the Romulans and this whole RomulanKlingon conspiracy. We’re beuilding up to something, and it’s likely to be explosive. 4/5.

In Theory: A girl named Jenna has a crush on Data, oh my! Data, despite believing that as an android he can’t feel romantic attraction, decides that he’d like to pursue this, even making a romantic program for himself. In other words, it’s The Dauphin 2.0. So first, again with this whole thing about Data being an unfeeling android. Why can’t Data feel romantic attraction? He’s been shown to feel plenty of feelings including some level of affection for Tasa, just because it’s not in the ‘’normal’ way doesn’t make it any less true. Maybe Data is aromantic, but that’s not gonna come up in a 90’s show, which 90’s standards are why this feels so wrong. Data’s curiosity on the subject and deciding to pursue it is fine. He’s new to it and sure studying/emulating what media and books say about romance isn’t always best as the episode does demonstrate. That’s certainly a fine message to express and plenty of people have done/gone through that. There were some fun moments like Data seeking out advice from the others and Worf pretty much threatening Data to treat Jenna, who is part of Security, well or else was also amusing XD But yeah this episode was cute in a few ways, but I just can’t get over that whole ‘Data is emotionless’ thing. The show has shown far more evidence for Data having emotions than lacking them? Maybe Data thinks that he doesn’t, I can believe that, but still. Had they portrayed it simply as Data, being new to love and curious about it, didn’t fully get it/wasn’t ready but was trying to force it anyways and Jenna broke it off because of that instead of using the ‘he was a rebound’ excuse? I’d have been more accepting of that instead of wondering why they even bothered with this plot to begin with. To say that Data can’t feel love and anyone who tries is doomed to failure instead of Data learning to be better over time? Yeah… sorry, not buying it. The Dauphin, despite me not liking how Welsey acted at the end, was standard but still cute. This one though? Sorry, didn’t care for it. But hey, we got Spot again, so that made it worth it! 2/5.

So… aside from the third one, not the best episodes. But hey, everything else this season has still been good. Very least I’ll have plenty to make a Top 5 Best/Worst list for S4 now. I’ve been rewatching Total Drama

I finished TDI and am starting episode 7 of TDA so I just finished Trent and Izzy’s aftermath and I have some thoughts mostly abut Gwen, Courtney, maybe Heather unsure about that and like ship things. 

I forgot how cute Duncan and Courtney were in TDI. I really get that ship there it is definitely my favorite from that season.

Also I love season 1 Courtney she is so great, her leaving Duncan to get the million 10 out 10, hilarious. In Trent’s aftermath when she says she’s team Gwen because Trent is a loser... by choice, is iconic, I love her so much.

And Heather love that bitch, even though she like literally the worst in TDI and I don’t think I ever realized how much of a better person she is in TDWT then TDI until I rewatched and I really appreciate TDWT Heather alot more now. Also Harold just keeps trying to be friends with Heather and she just keeps shutting him down and I’m just so annoyed cause he’s the only one was even kinda likes her.

I still love Gwen, she’s still probably my favorite character, but like she kinda sucks at communication but teens so i guess it’s fine. And as much as I love Gwuncan, I think Gwen is better in the game when she’s not in a relationship.

So I’m talk about Gwen and Trent now cause I just don’t get them, like there kinda cute in season 1 but like the only thing I really remember is him supporting her in the last challenge and that was cute. But Gwen is pissed at him most of the time in season 1 like she’s very hot and cold with him. And like theyre awful in TDA. Trent is way too jealous of Gwen’s friendship with Duncan even though she tells him they’re just friends multiple times. And he’s so insecure and starts doing weird shit like throwing challenges and the brand thing plus when he trys to make her jealous with Lindsay. It really makes me dislike Trent as a character and I never really cared about him TDI at all. I also don’t get Trent blaming Duncan for their break up, like Duncan was fucking around he made a guess about the 9 thing and that wasn’t even why she dumped him. I also don’t feel bad about Trent getting voted off, he deserved it, he was throwing challenges. And I really don’t like the way the aftermath specifically paints Gwen negatively for dumping him and him getting voted off. 1) cause I’m with Geoff he was going to get voted off anyway- he was throwing challenges and his team knew. 2)She was allowed to dump him, he was creeping her out and like it’s very fair for her to choose to break up with him instead of try and work it out. Especially because she is a teenager and its really healthy to know that you can and should end things if you are feeling uncomfortable and starting to feel unsafe in a relationship. And he was being obsessive enough that is pretty likely that she wasn’t feeling super safe there.

Lastly I’ve been trying to think how I got to the point of shipping Gwuncan so much when I really did like and do like Courtney and Duncan. And now I think I got to the point of it surpassing Courtney and Duncan, mostly because Gwen’s my favourite character and I hate her relationship with Trent so much and I just wanted her in a good relationship that I liked so I shipped with Duncan. I also do think some shit happens in TDA that I don’t remember that makes me less about Duncan and Courtney, but we’ll see. Idk I really like that Duncan and Gwen’s friendship in TDA and that could be part of the shipping for me too.

Ahhh just saw the rei flower scene. Still creeps me out. In the anime it feels so “no look he’s apologised. The flowers” cause reis smiling. She’s wasn’t smiling in the manga, that felt better and more “he’s not trying to leave us behind and pretend we don’t exist” eeeee hated the smile feel gross now.

In the high-end fight, Endeavour was thinking about how his body overheats and was saying "that's why" as flashback of the todo fam were shown. Why was that a thing?? Am I missing smth? Like yeah your body can overheat, that's why you forced a woman with an ice quirk into marriage to have kids I????? Why was that brought up????

Ah fuck Maybe I seeing it all wrong but this Endev v HE bit feels so weird "You know he never gave up, he's stubborn" (summary) Like yeah that's not a good thing when you just had flashbacks and were talking about his abuse. LIke I get It, in this context they're saying he's so stubborn etc so he wouldn't back down in the fight but you can't but that as a good thing after that's also what caused the abuse of his Family???? I'm so uncomfy aha

Okay I get why all of that was brought up lol my brain is so slow. but idk the "My body can't handle high temperatures so that's why" when talking about the family feels so off but maybe I'm seeing it wrong. IDK I just feel kinda weird about the whole thing, it clearly shows E has changed as a person and I respect that, and I felt the familys reactions to the fight but I just feel so off, maybe i'm looking at it too much like "okay, and?" but, hes changed now, now what? IDKKK

Hawks' "you were the only one seriously trying to surpass him" BOTHERS ME, obvi hawks doesnt know, but we do and were made to think about the todo fam cause flashbacks. HE being a reflection of what Endev was is good and cool and the "burn up and be put to rest" as him destroying his former self once and for all nice good, why do I still feel weird lmafo, I dont like E but I dont hate him and I respect and accept his change, maybe cause felt more 'this is it' rather than "theres still more"?????

Sorry about using your inbox to scream about the last couple eps but I'm just so conflicted, the framing on the flashbacks with the "that's why" really threw me the fuck off and felt really weird. ANYWAYS ty again

I’m so glad you were too distracted by watching the episode to see the screwup I made of your earlier ask XD

Many people were upset about her smiling and I can understand why, for me personally, I just think they added the smile because she was talking to her kids and not that she actually thought fondly of Endeavor or what he did. I just interpret as her smiling at Natsuo because I can’t think of any other reason she would smile in that scene T-T (someone I spoke to once gave a good reason why she was smiling but I can’t remember what they said... damn goldfish memory).

I think it’s important to remember that this is only the start of Endeavor’s redemption and so while he is changing as a person (which is something we can see) he’s still not at the point of fully accepting his crimes and what he did. Right now he’s still trying to excuse them, almost, by rationalizing why he committed them in the first place. I think you felt uncomfortable with the “burn up and be put to rest” part because it does feel like his past is going to be brushed off because he defeated the monster he saw in himself in Hood, however that isn’t the case. I think that line was more to symbolize that the person Endeavor used to be won’t be making a return and all he can do now is move forward (whatever that future holds for him). It’s him saying he won’t fall into the patterns of the past again.

As for Hawks, yeah he has no clue. In fact Hawks is a really good way of Horikoshi showing us that no one has a clue what happened with the Todoroki family (even Hawks who turns out to be a fan that has looked up to Endeavor for a long time). I think it was a smart way of setting up Hawks later connection to Dabi while also showing us the audience that the Todoroki abuse is very much a family secret.

Overall, I think the Hood fight was a pretty good start to Endeavor’s redemption but I can understand why it would make you feel uncomfortable at times. It doesn’t really help that it is only one episode and it’s a lot to process as well. The more you watch the fight, the more you can analyze what actually went down and enjoy it for what it is (in my opinion).

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing Hawks in action! I know Endeavor had the most screentime but Hawks was the true MVP in that battle and we all know that :p

I’m actually looking forward to the Endeavor agency arc being animated because it really does show us how much Endeavor has grown from this moment (and we get to see more of that delicious Todoroki drama) but we’ll have to wait awhile T-T

Aaaand nothing of value was seen there. I mean I do know what Patamon probably evolves into because I do follow the Digimon Twitter so like, I saw the relevant art they shared but ye

Anyways  a lot of these episodes were dull as usual, I didn’t feel like I missed out on much tbh aside from the sexy animation and the lore

This really drives it home to me how not having a villian of somekind just constantly present and active really makes a story so much more flat for me... Like I ain’t gonna argue Devimon or MetalSeadramon were interesting villians, but even just seeing them planning their next moves outloud and talking to their minions drove home what kind of people they were, and they weren’t even the most Packed-With-Personality villians in Adventure.    And while SkullKnightmon is there... they’re just kinda standing around. I don’t know much about them really and it makes me sad

Anyways, as always, I am definitely looking forward to whatever the fuck Psi is planning on doing because 1. Holy Shit It’s Milleniummon and 2. Terror Notes: “Go For Broke”

well… I guess I’m really doing this! Some proper, bullet-pointed notes for each episode of The Terror, starting with ep 1: Go For Broke!

I wrote these out last night (and edited them this morning to make them readable - you’re welcome!) so I hope that y’all enjoy my thoughts and assorted nonsense! I tried to save my comments for points I actually wanted to make because I feel like they bring something to the table but I still ended up writing A Lot lol

I love that Crozier couldn’t even be bothered to be present in welcoming Sir John and Fitzjames onto Terror, making Little and Hodgson do it by themselves. One could argue that he had important captain-y things to be doing at that time or something but I’m not 100% sure that wasn’t the case. 

idk if it’s just the angle, but I paused the episode just as the shot of the officer’s mess is coming in from above and Hodgson’s hands make me so uncomfortable. They look so bone-y and weird. (Just what you came here for, I know. Hand commentary.)

Cannot tell you how uncomfortable it is, after many rewatches, to listen to Fitzjames recounting in a casual, lighthearted manner 1) shooting people 2) people catching fire (and burning to death), and 3) their burning flesh smelling “like roast duck” (so, like something edible) and it’s even more uncomfortable to have the closeup be on Hodgson’s face as he laughs at the ‘roast duck’ comparison.

On a lighter note: I love that Fitzjames felt the need to remind everyone what size cherries are by illustrating it with his fingers. In case they forgot, I guess? As someone who occasionally speaks unnecessarily with my hands, big mood tbh.

I LOVE it when Fitzjames gives Little that affirmative tap on the arm after he compares Fitzjames’s injury to Lord Nelson’s. My friend Eli and I refer to it as The Fitzjames Arm Tap. I would like a Fitzjames Arm Tap, pretty please.

God, Sir John loudly setting his hands on the table to try to dispel the tension from the ‘birdshit island’ debacle as he attempts to change the subject is so funny. I’m gonna stop just pointing out things I find funny soon, I swear, but I just cannot handle this scene.

Between Hodgson looking horrifically embarrassed by Crozier’s outburst at Fitzjames and Little looking nervous when Crozier shoots him a look as Sir John says that there’s no reason to be concerned about the ice, it really does seem that they were having to ‘manage’ him even back in ep 1 when his alcoholism wasn’t completely out of hand.

Personal sidenote about this: My Pop-pop is often rude to workers in stores and restaurants (he doesn’t drink thank goodness but he has Alzheimer’s coming on which has worsened his temper) so I very much understand the feeling of being on-edge that an outburst is going to occur and trying to deal with the fallout when it does. Just going by my own experience, I can imagine Little apologizing to Fitzjames for Crozier’s rudeness as soon as they were out of Crozier’s earshot (not that anything Little could say would heal the deep psychological wound that Crozier created but hey, it’s something).

The way that Sir John brushes aside Dr. MacDonald’s and Crozier’s concerns about moving Young when he’s in such bad shape never fails to upset me but also ~foreshadowing for hauling the ill on boats oooohhh~

I said I was done pointing out random things that amuse me but the speed and agility with which Des Voeux pops out of the hatch and onto the deck after Orren falls into the water is just so funny. I could watch that two second clip on repeat all day. Might gif it so I actually can.

Is this a good time to point out that there’s also a scene in Moby-Dick where someone falls from high up on a mast and drowns? It’s in a chapter all about bad omens experienced by the crew of the Pequod and The Terror definitely has some similar vibes going on with the sun dogs displayed in the establishing shot of Erebus in that scene and David Young, a “warning of things to come,” on his way over.

The second(?) time I watched the part where Young tells Stanley that he didn’t think anything of getting headaches since he’s always gotten them, I had this thought pass through my head that was like “oh god, I had chronic migraines for years so I’d never have known if I had lead poisoning either!” but then I realized that this probably was not a relevant concern I should have.

Not sure I have any deep commentary on this but as Gore informs Sir John and Fitzjames about the blocked propeller, he’s standing in the same spot, in the same room as Goodsir will stand next episode to tell them about his death.

Also regarding this scene, I love how Gore waits for Fitzjames to give him the go-ahead to leave before actually going. I know that Fitzjames is his superior officer too but, since Sir John already dismissed him, it seems like waiting for Fitzjames’s approval isn’t really necessary, yet a nice thing to do. Perhaps this is a legitimate formality, but something similar happens later in this episode in the command meeting when Crozier asks Gore how many sun dogs he’s seen; he looks to Fitzjames and waits for his nod before answering Crozier. He doesn’t look to Sir John, he looks to Fitzjames. I know that we know essentially nothing about Gore but like.. underrated ship???? Just saying…

Ten nights ago, I was unable to get to sleep for at least an hour because I started thinking about David Young’s saying “I want to go to my grave as I am” and, of course, that ultimately doesn’t happen for him but also, this, like all things about him, is a “warning of things to come.” I’m pretty sure that no one else was properly buried until, arguably, Fitzjames and ironically, that was explicitly not what he wanted done with his body (and, since his grave was later looted by Hickey, similar to the way that Young’s autopsy ultimately achieved nothing, it didn’t really matter anyway).

I know that this happened exactly ten days ago because I forced myself to wake up and write it down in my notes app, lest I forget, which only prolonged my sleeplessness. I suffer for my analysis. 

Ah yesssss Tozer’s lesbian haircut. We love it! Why does my hair not look like that when I take a hat off? I’d like to file a complaint.

Was just thinking the other day about how Hartnell being the one to notice that there was something up with the ice in ep 1 is followed up on with Blanky complimenting Hartnell’s ability to read the ice to Crozier in ep 7. I wonder if Blanky ever gave him like. ice-reading lessons after becoming aware of his interest and natural talent at it in ep 1? That makes me happy to think about.

The two people who we’re shown awoken by Young’s screaming are Sgt. Bryant and Morfin and like. Do I even have to explain why that’s an Oof?

The way that Goodsir hesitates before knocking on Stanley’s door and Stanley irritatedly closing his book before answering the knock in an exasperated voice would be comedic in any other context. If I’m being honest, it still makes me laugh. As does Stanley’s “As if that weren’t plain.”

I’ve pointed this out before but mmmmm... that shot of Stanley in profile with the open candle flame in the background… the foreshadowing in this ep is thicker than the smoke at… Oh alright, I’ll stop. 

God, the autopsy/dive scene…. Collins being lowered down and entering the water paralleled with Goodsir’s initial cutting into Young’s corpse, the breaking up of the ice paralleled with the cutting of the bone-saw. But most significant to me is the parallel of what is seen/not seen and the long-term effect that this has. Collins sees Orren’s corpse (and then presumably never tells anyone about it), reinforcing his guilt over Orren’s death, the beginning of his mental health decline. Goodsir doesn’t see the cause of Young’s death in his autopsy and this not knowing about the lead poisoning until it’s too late to do anything about it is the cause of many of Goodsir’s later problems as well. And, to finish it all off, both the autopsy and Collins’ dive were ultimately for nothing (considering a spinning propeller is useless when your ships are frozen in). 

Crozier and Blanky’s simultaneous face journeys as Sir John rambles on about how there’s nothing to worry about and they’ll find the passage any day now are truly legendary.

I wrote some pretty extensive tags on this already but man… Crozier’s comment about how not all of Sir John’s men returned from one of his previous arctic expeditions is just so nasty and awful. Like, yes, Sir John is wrong to undersell the danger they’re in and Crozier is advocating for the correct position here, but that was completely uncalled for and horrible to say, particularly in a command meeting, in front of so many people. And Sir John looks legitimately upset by it too. He gets over it quickly, at least on the outside, but I still feel really bad for him (and I NEVER feel bad for Sir John so this is weird for me).

“But of course we will not be abandoning Erebus, or Terror…” Let’s check back in six episodes and see how that’s going! 

Crozier slamming his fist on the table to prove he’s not being melodramatic reminds me of this one post (that I sadly can’t find rn) about Jesus Christ Superstar that’s like “‘CUT OUT THE DRAMATICS’ Judas hollered dramatically.” It’s such an Overall Mood.

I don’t have a developed commentary on this at the moment but it’s an interesting reverse-parallel that Sir John had no concern for Young’s well-being when he was alive, ignoring Crozier’s concerns about moving him from ship-to-ship when he was in such poor health, yet now that he’s dead, Sir John is the one to recommend that Young be buried which Crozier is surprised by, and seems to feel is unnecessary.

There’s been so much amazing commentary already made about Young’s burial scene so I’ll skip it except to say that Hickey’s irritated sigh when he hears footsteps coming towards the grave is SO funny. That’s exactly how I feel when I know that someone is about to tell me something that will annoy me.

Goodsir was really getting into the emotion of Sir John’s “eulogy”/motivational speech before he remembered the promise he made about Young’s ring. Also, what triggered his memory was Sir John saying “We shall earn our loved one’s cheers and embraces,” so no doubt a reminder of the traumatic “Your loved ones will be there in Heaven to welcome you! :)” “I never knew my mother or father” exchange (or maybe just a reminder of the fact that he was supposed to get Young’s ring to his sister but just let me scrape a little humor out of this. God knows I need it).

The shot of Bryant praying in his hammock the night before they get completely frozen-in is honestly deeply upsetting to me. Especially considering he’s a marine so he Did Not Ask To Be Here, yet there he’ll die.

According to Melville, ship’s compasses occasionally spun round-and-round when a ship was caught in a severe storm and this was an incredibly upsetting thing to behold because of how disorienting it was. So, considering that, Fitzjames keeps his composure pretty well but he clearly has some reservations about how things are going and Sir John has no comforting-sounding remark about ‘Magnetic North’ to offer him now.

The bit where Sir John “sees” Crozier, on Terror, turn away from him with a half-smirk on his face is interesting because there’s no way he could have possibly seen Crozier’s expression at that distance and I’m doubtful that he’d even have been able to make out the identity of anyone he might have been able to see on Terror’s deck. So really, it speaks mostly to Sir John’s mental state; his seeing their getting frozen in as a loss against Crozier and imagining that Crozier would see it as a victory for himself.

Ugh the final shot is making me think about @catilinas’s post comparing a shot of the two ships stuck in to the shot of the ink drops from ep 3 and I am LOSING IT but I was losing it anyway because it’s 2AM now and my entire body feels like gelatin.
